Offering a rich history and inspiring Dr. Seuss story books, it’s called San Diego’s Jewel of The Sea. Many tourists and locals alike find themselves in La Jolla to escape the hustle and bustle of San Diego. La Jolla encompases several areas, the most talked about are The Village, La Jolla Shores, and Bird Rock.
The Village is the heart and downtown business district of La Jolla. The streets are lined with luxurious hotels, museums, art galleries, and restaurants. Home to La Jolla Cove, where you can find seals and sea lions basking in the sun, makes The Village a favorite amongst visitors.
La Jolla Shores can be seen just north from The Village. Choose from endless activities such as kayaking through La Jolla caves, snorkeling along side seals and other wildlife, or taking surf lessons. For leisure wind down and relax on the beach.
Bird Rock is a unique area nestled on the southernmost part of La Jolla. Bird Rock is a mix between residences and businesses. It boasts charm with plenty of boutique shops and places to dine. Although it does not have a beach you are a short bike ride to Windansea Beach, a favorite among locals.
